When the Great Patriotic War was over, all the Soviet people were
happy, they were glad to meet their dear soldiers from the front. But not
all of them returned home. Many of our soldiers died the death of heroes.
One of them was Duishenkul Shopokov. The monument to him stands in
the Kyrghyz village of Shalta.
Shalta is the place where Duishenkul was born, where he went to school
and then worked as a collective-farmer and where his relatives live now
The German fascists began the war against our Motherland on the 22 of
June, 1941.
